Making great tasting cured and air dried meats and salamis right here on our own small farm in Wales. Hand crafted using finest natural ingredients the meats are slowly air dried over several months. We also provide a small number of quality meat boxes.
High Welfare
Caring for our animals and making sure that they have extensive natural environments to roam in including woodland and wallows is central to how we farm, hand in hand with nature. On balmy summer evenings I have found pigs sleeping together under a tree.
Great taste
Ears up, inquisitive in nature with a beautiful red coat, Tamworths are suited to outdoor foraging.They delicately graze on wild sorrel, hawthorn leaves, vetch and clover in the summer, and dig for roots in winter. Tamworths grow very slowly which together with a foraged diet leads to an excellent depth of flavour not found in most pork today.
Sustainably farmed
Supporting biodiversity and soil health is key to looking after the land for future generations to come and in raising healthy animals.
We are currently planting trees to create shelterbelts between paddocks, providing shade, securing the soil from erosion, a wild habitat and wildlife corridors.
We are really excited about engaging with the emerging farming practice of sowing cover crops, these provide rich forage for the pigs, giving them healthier gut biomes and increasing the root systems and improving soil structure.
We use homeopathy as a first approach to animal health, this reduces stress and treats symptoms quickly before they develop. Our animals only receive medication if they need it, there are no routine hormone or antibiotic treatments.
Plastic free
We truly believe in being plastic free in all our packaging. Our vacuum packed produce use eco packs made from plant fibres. They are home compostable, but wherever they end up they are fully biodegradable and ocean friendly.
